FEA & CFD Business Development Manager

 

LOCATION: Denver, CO

LOCATION: Everett, WA

 

PROFILE: JLR is expanding its Denver and Seattle area offices and is seeking a passionate engineering professional to help drive new sales of ANSYS FEA and CFD simulation products. JLR’s reputation and culture represent world class engineering personnel, products, and services. The JLR locations represent two of SimuTech Group’s nine offices across the U.S. and Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business involving the ANSYS software (ANSYS, CFX, FLUENT, ANSOFT).

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Use various prospecting techniques to identify and qualify potential customers in the Rocky Mountain or Pacific Northwest regions.
  • Contact engineering management within a company to set up initial meetings.
  • Identify the prospects’ engineering problems that can be solved by simulation.
  • Propose FEA or CFD software, training, and services to solve these problems.
  • Close the business and monitor closely to ensure successful implementation.
  • Cultivate long term relationship with the new customer.

 

You will have the assistance of the Sales and Application Engineers within the JLR and SimuTech organizations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Passion for improving engineering processes by applying simulation tools
  • Minimum BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Prior technical sales experience preferred
  •  Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Excellent English-based writing and verbal skills
  • Very personable with a good sense of humor!

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer

 

JLR is looking for an engineer with an advanced engineering degree (MS or Ph.D.) who wants to join a world-class CFD consulting team.

 

Your credentials should include the following in order to qualify for the position:

 

  • Creative engineer with superb problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid theoretical background in fluid dynamics and numerical methods
  • Expertise in practical application of CFD modeling
  • Basic familiarity with turbulence modeling beyond RANS, multiphase flows, turbomachinery, high speed compressible flows, or heat transfer (especially in the context of CFD)
  • Expertise (as evidenced by coursework and/or publications in reputable journals) in at least one of the following areas: Reacting flows and combustion, Fluid Structure Interaction, Turbomachinery, or Multiphase Flows
  • Strong familiarity with at least one of the following: CFX, Fluent, Flow3D, or Star-CD
  • Familiarity with grid generation and meshing techniques including commercial meshers (ICEM, Gambit, CFX-Mesh etc.)
  • Basic programming skills in any of the following: C#, PERL, VB, .Net, Fortran, C++
  • Excellent English-based technical writing and verbal skills
  • Personable with an ability to work well with clients and other staff

Experience in these other areas will be considered a plus:

 

  • Combustion and radiation modeling, MHD flows, pollution modeling with CFD, or turbomachinery blade design
  • Ability to use 3-D CAD to build parts and assemblies (Solidworks, ProE, or Unigraphics preferred)
  • Practical ANSYS experience manipulating and/or modeling complex 3-D assemblies
  • Academic background or work experience in structural mechanics and FEA
  • Optimization and DOE methods.
  • Electromagnetics

Duties of the position relate to the advanced application and use of various software products such as FLUENT, CFX & ANSYS, and include the following:

FEA & CFD Application Engineer

 

PROFILE: JLR is expanding its Denver and Seattle area offices and is seeking a passionate engineering analyst (CFD or FEA) for our team. You may be the right person if you would like something different from the average, repetitive engineering or design position and enjoy learning & using the latest state-of-the art FEA and CFD software for a wide variety of applications. JLR’s reputation and culture represent world class engineering personnel, products, and services, including the full suite of ANSYS products. The JLR locations represent two of SimuTech Group’s nine offices across the U.S. and Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

JLR’s engineers are experts with the full ANSYS family of products (ANSYS, CFX, FLUENT, ANSOFT) and provide comprehensive technical support including product positioning, demonstrations, training, and implementation. The primary role of the application engineer is to deliver product presentations to prospects, serve as a technical liaison for customers, and provide technical product assistance to account managers in the development and closing of sales opportunities.   

The position requires extensive contact with prospects and customers, both by phone and on-site. You will have the assistance of the entire engineering staff within the JLR and SimuTech organizations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  Your credentials should include the following in order to qualify for the position:

  • Creative engineer with superb problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid academic or professional background in CFD and/or FEA engineering fundamentals and computational methods
  • Accomplished in 3-D CAD to build complex parts and assemblies
  • Excellent English-based technical writing and verbal skills
  • Desire to rapidly grow professionally by assisting our seasoned FEA and CFD experts
  • Very personable with a good sense of humor!
  • Desire to be the best in the world at what you do!

Experience in these other areas will be considered a plus:

  • FLUENT, CFX or ANSYS FEA
  • Advanced coursework in fluids or structural mechanics
